Patient and Companion Rules
(1) Patients and companions must follow the rules set by the hospital management and the medical and administrative recommendations to be given by all medical personnel.
(2) Patients may benefit from the rights recognized by the Patient Rights Regulation.
(3) For patients who need companions due to their care needs, the companion is mandatorily required. Whether a patient needs a companion is determined by the patient's physician.
(4) Companions can receive their companion ID cards after registration from the clinic secretary. They must wear their companion ID cards all the time. Companion exchanges must be within the knowledge of the chief nurse. The chief nurse is necessarily informed about the change of companion, the rules are signed again, the companion ID card is transferred, and the ID card is delivered to the secretary office when discharge.
(5) OUR HOSPITAL, ALL PATIENTS ARE CONSIDERED AT HIGH RISK FOR FALLING. Training and information are given to the companion and the patient about the risk of falling. Therefore, the companion cannot leave the patient alone without ensuring his/her safety.
(6) Patients and companions should keep their shelves, closets, beds, all common areas (refrigerators, bathrooms, toilets, and dining rooms, etc.) clean and tidy, and notify the glitches to the staff.
(7) Nurse pagers are available at the patients’ head, patients’ WCs, and bathrooms. It should be used in case of need to reach the nurse quickly when there is a problem with the patient. It should not be used for any other purpose.
(8) The patient ID wristband given to the patient by the unit secretary during the patient's hospitalization will be worn by the patient until the patient is discharged. When the wristband is deformed, it should be notified to the room nurse and the wristband should be replaced with a new one.
(9) Within the hospital, it is forbidden to shout, speak loudly, argue, make noise, engage in immoral behavior, gamble, make someone do gamble, possess and use alcoholic beverages and stimulant substances.
(10) In aim to prevent hot water burns in our patients; water temperature must be checked before use.
(11) The patient and the companion who damages the hospital property are obliged to cover the damage. Patients and companions can use encrypted safes available in their rooms for valuables and belongings. Individuals who do not comply with this issue cannot claim any rights in the event of the loss of their belongings and cannot hold the hospital administration accountable. To ensure control in the situations specified in our hospital, our camera system provides uninterrupted service.
(12) Visiting hours are applied according to the rules regulated by the hospital management. Visits are made daily from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. In unusual cases, the hospital administration may reorganize the visitation rules.
(13) If the health conditions of the patients are suitable; they may be allowed to leave by obtaining written permission from the service doctor on condition returning at latest 8:00 pm on the same day in case of important situations.
(14) For the peace and security of the hospital, patients and companions cannot carry firearms or any kinds of cutting, piercing, or injuring instrument.
(15) During physician visits, devices such as radios, televisions, computers, CDs, DVD players located in patient rooms should be kept closed, while they can be turned on in low voice without disturbing other patients at other times.
(16) All patients should be present in their rooms during treatment hours unless permitted by the authorities.
(17) Unless there is a medical justification, patients and companions should sleep in pajamas, tracksuits or shorts and they should not walk around or sleep in their underwear.
(18) Attention should be paid to the times of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is served from 06:00 am to 07:30 am, lunch is from 12:00 pm to 01:30 pm and dinner is from 05:00 pm to 06:00 pm. Within the scope of coronavirus (Covid-19) precautions; lunch and dinner are also served in the patient room.
(19) The patient can be accompanied only by a single companion. Only one person can benefit companion meal.
(20) The patient or patient's first degree relative is responsible for the need ofthe companion. The salaried caregiver should be followed up by the patient or the patient’s first degree relative. The companion must be replaced in cases deemed inappropriate by the chief physician or nurse .
(21) Minors under the age of 18,seniors, individuals who are not qualified to meet the patient's care needs cannot be admitted as companions.
(22) Companion gender cannot be different in terms of privacy.
(23) It is prohibited for the companion to presence in any room other than the patient’s room.
(24) The companion can use the companion seat. The companion cannot use the patient’s bed.
(25) The companion having health issues should be replaced with another companion with the permission of the nurse as soon as possible.
(26) Medical wastes should be disposed of in red colored trash cans, household wastes should be disposed of in black colored trash cans.
(27) Do not smoke in patient rooms, especially indoors, for your health and safety. Due to the smoking in the patient rooms, the ignition of the patient bed, blankets and curtains causes fire. Smoking is one of the most common causes of fire. According to the Law no. 4207 on the Prevention and Control of Tobacco Products, tobacco products such as cigarettes etc. cannot be consumed in closed areas of hospitals. Waste related to tobacco products such as butts, packages, mouthpieces, paper and so on cannot be disposed of in the environment. Those who consume tobacco products in the specified places are fined administratively by public officials authorized by the relevant administrative unit supervisor. According to the Patient Treatment Institutions Operating Regulation, smoking is prohibited in patient rooms and outside of the permitted places. Patients who do not comply with the provisions of this regulation, ignore the warnings made, cause complaints and discomfort of other patients, can be dismissed from the institution with the offer of the service specialist and the approval of the chief physician.
(28) In case the rules specified by the hospital are not followed or the health of other patients is endangered by the patient, the discharge of the patient will be made by the physician if there is medical suitability as well.
